Checking the NC State Board of Elections feed…
Official data, easier to follow.
Background downloads begin November 3 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, then run every five minutes even when nobody has this page open. This page reads the latest saved results; opening it does not trigger a ZIP download. Before that time, we show a previously downloaded preview. We also check NCSBE’s race and precinct status files. Status data is shown only when its contest, choices, and vote totals match the ZIP snapshot. NC says updates arrive every 5–10 minutes; a check may not bring new totals. About the source
What the numbers mean
Election-night results are unofficial and may change. Precinct reporting counts come from NCSBE’s separate official reporting files. Vote totals still come from the media ZIP. Precinct reporting is not the percentage of ballots counted, and 100% reporting does not mean results are final. In races allowing multiple choices, percentages show each candidate’s share of votes cast in that contest, not the share of voters. This site does not call winners.
